Tropical Depression 7 Dissipates in Southern Atlantic

UPDATED By WeatherBug Meteorologist, Chad Merrill | Tropical Depression 7 has now weakened to a tropical wave as it darts west towards the Windward Islands. All tropical related watches have been dropped out ahead of the former depression.
As of 11 a.m. AST (EDT), the remnants of Tropical Depression 7 were located near 13.3 N and 58.9 W, or about 40 miles east of Barbados, and 170 miles southeast of Martinique. This places the depression 1,600 miles southeast of Miami. It`s packing top sustained winds of 35 mph, and is racing toward the west at 25 mph. Its minimum central pressure has increased to 1011 mb, or 29.85 inches of mercury.
Strong wind shear has torn apart Tropical Depression 7 this morning. The remnant low pressure center is still hauling off to the west but will pose no more than a rain threat to the Lesser Antilles today and tonight with 1 to 2 inches expected.
Other than Tropical Depression 7, the Atlantic tropics are quiet this weekend. The only other concern is a low pressure 200 miles northwest of the Cape Verde Islands. This low is not expected to become anything tropical in nature for the next few days as it roams cooler water. Once it reaches warmer water conducive to development, it could strengthen into a tropical cyclone by the middle of next week.
