Rain, Mountain Snow Winding Down Over Northwest
UPDATED 5 PM PST, November 8, 2009
UPDATED By WeatherBug Meteorologist, Patrick O'Hara
A Pacific storm that brought heavy snow to the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies is finally winding down today. More snow will continue to fall across the higher elevations, but the heaviest accumulations will be confined to the cascades of southern Washington and northern Oregon.

WeatherBug Meteorologist Rob Eicher has the latest on the Pacific Northwest heavy rain and mountain snow threat in this exclusive WeatherBug Winter Weather Video.

Moisture continues to push onshore across the Pacific Northwest, sliding into the colder air located over the northern Rockies and the mountains of western Washington and Oregon. This continues to produce scattered light rain and snow showers. The snow level will remain as low as 3,000 feet, allowing several more inches of snow to accumulate, especially on the western slopes. An additional 3 to 6 inches will accumulate by Monday morning, with the highest peaks of the Cascades in north-central Oregon seeing up to 9 inches of snow.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the Cascade Mountains of southern Washington and northern Oregon.

Another powerful storm, associated with another cold front will push onshore Monday, bringing another round of widespread downpours, gusty winds and heavy mountain snow.
