At 547 PM edt...radar indicated heavy showers moving from southern Maryland into the central and eastern portions of the Washington metropolitan area. Movement was north at 20 mph. Locally heavy rain of up to one inch in one hour is possible with these showers. This will cause ponding of water on roadways and potentially flooding of low lying or poor drainage areas...especially near streams. Locations impacted include...
